Tsukuyomi is a character introduced in Legend of Zelda: Return of Ganondorf. She is the Keeper of Holy Magick and resembles an anthropomorphic, highly stylized version of the Pokemon Cresselia.

Guarding the Master Sword[]
Aside from her job as Keeper of Holy Magick, Tsukuyomi was tasked with helping to guard the Master Sword from evil.
Attacked by Ganondorf[]
Ganondorf came to the Sacred Grove in an effort to destroy the Master Sword, and he was confronted by Tsukuyomi. He attacked her, hoping to steal her power as well. Although he failed to do this and destroy the Master Sword, he had managed to severly injure Tsukuyomi.
When Link came to claim the Master Sword, she was still severly injured. She told Link that Ganon was attacking the other eight Keepers of Magick in an attempt to sap their powers and add them to his own. She gave Link the Master Sword and also gave him a special ability that allows him to slowly regenerate his health and stamina. Link would later learn 8 other abilities based upon The Nine Magicks.
It is later learned that Tsukuyomi successfully recovered, thanks to her superior healing powers.

Aside from the abilities in the template, Tsukuyomi is said to have the most beautiful voice in the world. Her singing can not only bring courage and hope to those who are pure of heart, but it also strikes fear into the hearts of evil beings.

Name Origin[]
Tsukuyomi is named after the Japanese god of the same name (except the Zelda Fanon version is female as opposed to the male Tsukuyomi in Japanese and Shinto mythology).
